art supplies, organic bakeries, costume design and hire, paint shops
and a handmade billiard table store. Gertrude Street’s diverse range
will keep you busy and interested.
A wide array of restaurants will also enrich your eating experience
catering for both bohemian and cosmopolitan tastes. Hotels are
plentiful if it is just a drink you are after, or a nice bottle of
wine to take along to a BYO restaurant.

bookshops, designer jewellery shops and interesting one-off boutiques.

shopping list to buy your fresh fish, meat, poultry and vegetables and
be surprised at the reasonable prices. Pop in for a quick takeaway or

Asian restaurants lining the street.
Don’t forget that early January marks an important time on the
Chinese/Vietnamese calendar as it’s time for celebration and welcoming
in the Lunar New Year. The New Year Lunar festival on Victoria Street
is filled with dance, music, food and the famous Lion Dance.
